There is also the integrative kindergarten because „we need to make people to understand from the beginning, that those children are the same human being, with the same rights” – father Basel, the director of the centre says.
 
Bethlehem  owns 100-hectare-farm but because of the lack of rain recently it is difficult to generate the income from there. However youth helps there while children learn gardening in the small fields near their houses.
 

Bethlehem, Ifakara is one of the biggest centre for children and youth with intellectual impairment in Tanzania. It was established in 1986 by the Tanzania Episcopal Conference with 12. Now there are 104 children staying in the centre for at least one year. They live there and receive the training so they can develop their skills. The centre employees 14 teacher (6 of them are paid by government). The average salary of governmental-employed teachers is 200 000 TSH and paid by centre 80 000 – 150 00 TSH.
